THOMAS." Margaret Wallace Thomas was the mother of Margaret Gray Thomas, who bequeathed the Owens-Thomas House to the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1951. Inscribed on the first page is a dedication to Dr. James Gray Thomas (1835-1884) and Margaret Wallace Owens Thomas (1829-1915), who wed in 1865, "J.G. & M.W. Thomas/ Savh Dec 25th 1867."
